Outreach
Each year the Central Florida Chapter awards scholarships to chemical engineering students in the Central Florida region. In addition to the standard scholarships awarded, we have a new scholarship starting in 2024: The John T. Ellington Family Scholarship. This scholarship has been made possible by donations from the Ellington Family and others in memory of John Ellington, a long time AIChE member, Professional Engineer (PE), and leader in the Central Florida section for many years. This scholarship is weighted for a Chemical Engineering student who is a first generation college student who is working their way through school. Another possible scholarship opportunity is at the discretion of the Maisel Family and the AIChE-CF Board, an additional grant may be made in memory of Past Local Chair & Chemical Engineer Bill Miasel.
